Did you know that Brixham is surrounded by beautiful beaches & coves?

Breakwater Beach

This is our closest beach, with just a 10 minute walk from Salty's Cottage (to the right of the harbour, and past the Marina).

It's a poplar beach, and has plenty of parking, toilet facilities and the wonderful Breakwater Bistro: www.brixham-restaurant.co.uk/breakwater-bistro/

It's dog-friendly November to March, but sadly, not during the Spring and Summer months. However, you'll often spot seals and dophins, which is an added bonus.

Fishcombe Cove

A beautiful cove, just a 20 minute walk from Salty's Cottage (to the left of Rockfish). It's dog-friendly all year round, and has toilets, parking nearby and a fabulous cafe: www.facebook.com/fishcombecovecafe/

You'll love the crystal clear water and the resident seals!

St Mary's Bay

Brixham's only sandy beach. It's another beach that is dog-friendly all year round, but is not for the faint hearted, as there are many steps to access it. You could walk from Salty's Cottage (approx 30 minutes), or park at Berry Head or Sharkham Point. It's a stunning coastal walk, but there isn't a toilet or a cafe. The views are tremendous though!

Broadsands Beach

A long sandy beach, with a cafe, beach hut hire, parking and toilets. It is also excellent for fans of watersports, and has a great watersports centre: www.broadsands-watersports.co.uk/

The beach itself isn't dog-friendly, however, dogs are very welcome to run around the grassed area.

It takes under an hour to walk here from Salty's Cottage, but the path is a little uneven and steep at certain points (take the path through the golf course). Another option is to catch the number 12 bus.

Churston Cove An absolutely stunning cove, with crystal clear waters and a haven for rockpool-fans! It's a combination of sand and shingle, and dogs are welcome all year round. Access can be tricky, but well worth the effort, and it is a 40 minute walk from Salty's Cottage.

Shoalstone Beach & Lido

With just a 15 minute walk from Salty's Cottage, you'll find that Shoalstone Beach really does have everything! It's dog-friendly all year round, has a seawater lido (https://shoalstonepool.com/), parking, toilets, disabled access and a fantastic restaurant: www.shoalsbrixham.co.uk/
